Jobs & costs

How do I create a job?

From a finalized or accepted proposal, or directly from an estimate. The job freezes a baseline.

When to use: when the work is won or about to start. Any member of the company can create a job. Acceptance is not required: you can start from a finalized or accepted proposal, or directly from an estimate.

1. Open the proposal or the estimate and choose Create job. 2. From an estimate without a proposal, RHACOVA asks you to confirm with Create job anyway.

RHACOVA freezes a baseline at that moment: expected cost, selling price and expected profit. Everything you record on the job is compared against it; later estimate edits don't change it.

Verify: the job opens showing its baseline and where it came from. If the source proposal is voided later, the job stays the same and the proposal's status is only shown.

What doesn't happen automatically: creating a job records no actual costs, commitments, bills or invoices.

After award, review the baseline and planned dates, set up stages and crew bookings, review material requirements in Purchasing, and record field work. Keep receipts and labor hours separate from confirmed costs; only an authorized person posts costs. Use forecasts for remaining work and Finance separately for bills, receipts and recognition.
