Managerial results and P&L
Read recognized revenue and expenses by economic date, and understand when a result is only provisional.
Who: people granted recognition view. Open Finance → Managerial P&L and choose the period and currency. It is managerial accrual reporting, not certified accounting, a tax return or professional accounting advice, and its records are not official fiscal invoices.
What it reads: only posted recognition entries, each with an economic date, an account in your chart of accounts, a currency and an amount. Receivables, receipts, cash, contract value and job forecast profit are never counted by themselves. Historical records are not recognized automatically.
Rules: direct costs must reference a recorded job cost on its date incurred; revenue needs an explicit basis (milestone, measured progress or completion) and can't exceed the job's baseline plus approved change orders. Recognition entries are never edited: a correction is a reversal on the original economic date and a new entry.
Coverage: Recognition coverage lists gaps such as unrecognized job costs, unclassified bills or completed jobs without recognized revenue. While a blocking gap exists, the final net result is withheld and only a Provisional result is shown. Active jobs without revenue are informational only.
Post and reverse in Finance → Managerial P&L. Posting needs the recognition-posting grant; reversal needs the separate recognition-reversal grant. In To review: job revenue, select the job’s principal method, review the basis, economic date, account and amount, then confirm. Review job costs and eligible payable expenses separately; Manual entry is for eligible items not already recognized, not a shortcut for job costs or job revenue. Use Reverse with a reason on a posted entry, including under Changed sources, then review and post the correction. The original economic date and correction history are preserved; source changes never rewrite recognized amounts.
Job profit vs company result: the Job Command Center's projected profit uses the job's contract and forecast; the P&L reports recognized company results by period. They answer different questions and are never mixed. The P&L shows no job or cost-center totals.
