Estimates & pricing
How do I create an estimate?
Build line items, choose a pricing method and review Profit Guard.
When to use: to price a piece of work. Every member of the company can create and edit estimates. New estimates use the company's Currency for new estimates.
1. Go to Estimates, enter a title and create it, or start from a template, duplicate an estimate or import a spreadsheet. 2. Add sections and line items: category (material, labor, equipment, subcontractor and more), quantity, unit and cost per unit. RHACOVA totals the direct cost.
3. Choose how to price: by markup, by target margin or by a final price. 4. Review the economics panel (price, profit, markup and margin) and the Profit Guard findings.
Changes save automatically, so you can keep revising the estimate. A finalized proposal is a frozen snapshot: later estimate changes don't alter it; create a proposal revision to send updated numbers.
What doesn't happen automatically: Profit Guard and price evidence never change your prices, and nothing reaches your customer until you finalize and share a proposal.
