Estimates & pricing

How do I review and use price evidence?

Keep the source of a price next to the line, and apply it only when you choose to.

When to use: before trusting a line's cost, to keep a supplier quotation, catalog price or market result next to it. Any member who can edit the estimate can add and review evidence.

1. Open the estimate and the line's price evidence. 2. Add evidence yourself, or review quoted prices from a supplier quote request and market results where available. 3. Check the source, date, price and the unit it is priced per.

Save as evidence keeps it as evidence only. The line's cost changes only when you choose Use this price.

Units must match: a price can be used only if its unit is the line's unit, or converts to it by an exact factor of the same kind (for example square feet and square yards). RHACOVA never converts between kinds, so a bag never becomes a cubic yard.

Verify: after Use this price, the line's unit cost and the estimate totals update; review Profit Guard again before sending a proposal.

What doesn't happen automatically: evidence and supplier quotations never change a price unless you use them, and never create a job cost, a commitment, an account payable or a payment.
