How do supplier quote requests work?
Ask a supplier to price estimate items through a private link, then decide what to use.
When to use: to get supplier prices for items in an estimate. Every member of the company can create and manage quote requests.
1. From an estimate, pick items and a supplier and create a quote request. 2. Share its link or send it by email; the supplier doesn't need an account. 3. Links can be revoked at any time.
The supplier enters prices, availability, lead time, delivery, tax and fees. If they replied another way, you can record the response yourself; it is marked with how it arrived.
Review the response and select the quoted prices you want as price evidence. Each price is applied to a line only with Use this price, and only when its unit matches.
From a job, you can request quotes for the job's estimate materials. The request stays linked to that job, and its quotes are shown as quoted prices only.
What doesn't happen automatically: a quotation never changes an estimate price, and never creates a job cost, commitment, account payable or payment, including on job-linked requests.
