Create and publish a Project Update
Turn selected field records into a reviewed client update, then publish a frozen version.
Who and when: only owners and admins create, review and publish updates; members can't see drafts. Use an update to tell a client what happened on a job, built from daily logs, photos and stage progress you already recorded.
1. Open the job → Project updates → New update. 2. Tick what the client should see under Daily log activities, Photos and Stage progress. Tick Include blockers / observations only for logs where you want them shown. 3. Write the Summary for your client and choose Save draft.
Only what you tick is included. Internal notes, weather, crew, hours, costs and financial figures are never included, and ticking a photo approves it for this update only.
Optional AI: Suggest summary with AI writes a suggestion from the ticked records only, never photos. It is not in your update until you choose Use as summary, Replace my summary or Add below my summary, and you can edit it first. Check it against your records; Discard suggestion leaves your text unchanged.
4. Use Preview to see exactly what the client will see, then Mark reviewed. 5. Choose Publish & get link, pick Link expires after and Client page language, and confirm with Publish. Nothing is ever published by AI or automatically.
Publishing freezes exactly what the preview shows into a numbered version, including the company logo at that time. Later edits to the draft or field records never change it. To send a corrected update, edit the draft, mark it reviewed and publish again: the previous link shows Replaced by a newer version.
Verify: the version appears under Published versions with Link active and its expiry date; View published version shows the frozen content.
Language: the client page and published PDF use the language chosen at publishing. Text you write, and the work descriptions from your logs, are shown as written; nothing is translated automatically.
